The Old Post, what is it, and why the name?

The Old Post was home to a legendary Montana American Legion Post. Also a beloved restaurant. The legend continues…

Sounds fun. Whose place is this anyway?

The Owner-Operators are Kimberly & Tom Durham from the Jawbone group, who first fell in love with The Old Post as Missoula college kids. You know the old saying, “If you love it so much, why don’t you marry it?” Well, they did.

Jawbone Group… I know that name. They have other restaurants, right?

Correct! The Old Post is their Missoula venture. Jawbone Group also runs Bar 47 and The Jawbone in White Sulphur Springs, and they have a fun new project coming soon on Flathead Lake in Polson.

Four restaurants — you must be pretty good at this! So what should I try at the Old Post?

The brunch, for some, is a reason to get up in the morning, and the house fish tacos and adult milkshakes are old faves. Our cocktail program is pretty great. We do fully-loaded burger classics, and we have great new dishes coming weekly from our Executive Chef. Order some good wine or beer with your meal; there’s a large selection of taps, and a curated by-the-glass list as well as a cellar selection. We’re known for our cocktails, (standard, low, and zero-alcohol available) and because you seem thoughtful and bold, you’ll be happy to see our inventive bar program. At the end of the day, it’s choose your own adventure: Check out the menus.

Local, organic, farm to table, gluten-free, vegan, non-alcoholic, etc?

Whenever we can — of course.

Ok, I’m interested. How do I get a table?

Walk-ins are welcome as well, and you’re always invited to wait or eat at our bar. If you have any seating or time concerns, or need to give us a heads up about a large group, give us a call at (406) 540-4433. 

What’s the deal with your live music and events?

The Old Post regularly features live music. In addition to year-round musical performances, you can join us for live jazz Thursdays at 6 pm. Are you a musician, comedian, poet, or stage persona looking for a stage? Submit a sample to kass@jawbonegroup.com.

And if I need some privacy?
